About the role
Provide comprehensive coordination and administrative support for research projects, research governance, ethics and grant activities. Manage project delivery, compliance, stakeholder engagement, research data and financial administration, while providing specialist advice, training and operational support to researchers to ensure the successful delivery of research outcomes and continuous improvement of research processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate research ethics, governance submissions and grant applications, ensuring compliance and timely delivery.
- Support multiple research projects by monitoring milestones, managing risks and resolving operational issues.
- Maintain research databases, records and data systems, ensuring accuracy, security and compliance.
- Conduct research analysis, prepare reports and contribute to publications and presentations.
- Build effective relationships with researchers, students, clinicians, industry partners and external stakeholders.
- Provide advice and support on research administration, governance, ethics, funding and University processes.
- Deliver training and guidance on research systems, data management and project coordination.
- Coordinate project meetings, monitor actions and support the delivery of agreed outcomes.
- Support staff onboarding, contract administration and compliance processes.
- Assist with project budgets, expenditure monitoring, invoices, payments and financial reporting.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance research support and project delivery.
Qualifications, skills & experience
- Degree qualification with relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and professional experience.
- Experience supporting research projects, including ethics and governance processes, grant administration, project coordination, and stakeholder engagement.
- Experience managing research documentation, databases, records, and reporting requirements.
- Demonstrated experience undertaking quantitative and qualitative research analysis using statistical and research software (e.g. R, SPSS, NVivo, REDCap or similar).
- Demonstrated knowledge of research governance principles, including research ethics, integrity, compliance requirements and relevant legislative and institutional frameworks.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple concurrent projects and competing priorities, ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality outcomes while meeting established deadlines.
- Proven ability to build and maintain effective working relationships and engage professionally with stakeholders.
- Well-developed analytical and critical reasoning skills, with the ability to evaluate complex information, identify issues, and develop practical, evidence-based solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to critically appraise, interpret and synthesise research evidence from a range of scientific and scholarly sources to support informed decision-making.
